Angelina Jolie has returned stateside.
The actress was spotted arriving at Los Angeles International Airport from Hawaii on Wednesday evening with her two eldest sons, 11-year-old Maddox and 9-year-oldPax, who could be seen clutching an overstuffed purple teddy bear.
The trio had spent the last several days in Oahu, where the Oscar winner was scoutingfor possible filming locations for her upcoming film, Unbroken.
Jolie is set to direct the World War II drama, and she is reportedly bringing her entire family along while she works on her second directorial effort. Her first, In the Land of Blood and Honey, was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film in 2011. That film was shot in Bosnia, Budapest and Hungary.
As for Unbroken, it's been announced that Jack O'Connell, best known for his role on the British hit show Skins, will star as the real life World War II hero Louis Zamperini.
The movie follows the true story of the former Olympian who, as an Air Force pilot, crashed into the Pacific Ocean in 1943 and was subsequently taken captive by Japanese soldiers, who held him in a prison camp for the rest of the war.
"I read Laura Hillenbrand's brilliant book, and I was so moved by Louie Zamperini's heroic story, I immediately began to fight for the opportunity to make this film," Jolie said in a statement announcing her involvement in the project. "Louie is a true hero and a man of immense humanity, faith and courage. I am deeply honored to have the chance to tell his inspiring story."
The film is reportedly slated to hit theaters on Christmas Day 2014.
